Well kids, this is is. The storm of the century. Winter storm 2011. The "snowpocalypse", if you will. More like "icepocalypse" in my neck o' the woods, though.
Yesterday night, we had a sleet storm, which quickly froze over creating about an inch of ice covering our quaint little city. Obviously school was called off for today, which I was soo excited about!...until I woke up and realized that ice+snow+more freezing rain="you're not leaving this house".
So, after cleaning my room, working out, and getting some laundry done, I quickly realized being in the house all day gets really boring really fast. Facebook and Twitter can only hold you over for so long.
I took a little break to check out what kind of damage mother nature had done. Me and the little sibs trekked out to our driveway to find 2 foot snow mounds...covered by an inch of ice. You could literally walk on top of the snow without falling through. It was insane. My little sister tried to dig out her old ice skates so we could see if she could skate in the street, but to her utter dismay, they were nowhere to be found. However, some of my friends did try to skate in the street, and it was successful. Love it.
So I've literally been bumming around all day doing absolutely nothing....and it's killing me. I've actually gotten to the point where I can't wait to go back to school tomorrow.
Oh wait. They cancelled school tomorrow too.
Just peachy.
Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but there's only so much time you can handle being in a house with the same six people. So what am I going to do tomorrow? Well, I'll attempt to ask my parents if I can go over to my friend's house. Since I'm 98.3% sure they'll say no, I'll sleep in as late as I possibly can (which will probably be until about 9:30. Thanks internal clock.), I'll take some more pictures of Snowpocalypse 2011, play some guitar, paint my nails, clean my room again, do more laundry....wow. Sounds like a blast and a half if you ask me.
