This weekend has just been chock full of good karma for me. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I'm reapin' the benefits, let me tell you.
My weekend started after school on friday. I had my first ComedySportz match that night, and we had to stay after school to practice and go out to dinner with the team and such. Our practice didn't go well...at all. In fact, it was a flop. We all were really nervous that the match would be flop too. So, we decided to get some dinner to cool down. Our teacher gave us a nice pep-talk, and off to Noodles and Co. we went. The boys and the girls drove elementary style. (Boys in one car, girls in the other) just for funsies. So my best friend Liv and I were in the car together, and we totally got lost trying to find the school. The boys took 20 minutes to get there....we took an hour. But in this hour, we listened to a bunch of new hipster music, talked about our lives, did our best SNL sketch impressions, and just about killed the guy behind us because 15 pounds of ice fell off of the top of our car...we were in a giggle fit for the rest of the ride. We got to the match after much wasted time, and we were basically thrown into warm-ups because we were running so late. We played a few warm up games with the other team, and then it was time to get backstage. I was freaking out. This was my first match. I'd been dreaming of doing this since my Freshman year. And it was actually happening. I was on the team. Backstage. At my first match.
I can't even relate to you how amazing that match was. Everyone who had been on the team for the previous year as well were all in complete agreement that that was their best match ever. We rocked it. And I can't even express how incredible the feeling was afterwards.
I've been smiling all weekend. And the best news is...I have another match this Friday at home...which means all of my friends will be there.
Let's do this.
hahah your elementary style transportation made me laugh.
