Monologue Blues

I love monologues.
I love working a monologue over and over and over until you get it just right.
I love experimenting. Making my character unique. Something I can be proud of.
I love blocking and reblocking. The feeling I get when a character choice finally clicks.
I love everything about monologues...well, almost everything.
The one and only thing I hate about monologues is finding one.
All of the theatre classes at my school right now are in their "monologue units"...which means you've got a hundred underclassmen running around the library checking out every script and monologue book that they can get their little "Beginning Theatre Arts" hands on. And of course, these adorable D-1ers get free reign of the library before we do...
Does being an upperclassman mean nothing anymore?
So, that leaves me with very little resources to find my perfect contemporary and classical monologues. I'm awful at monologue searching as it is. I've tried every online monologue database, every book I could get my hands on after the D1's ravaged the library...I just can't seem to find my perfect monologue.
Now, for those of you reading this that haven't the slightest clue what I'm talking about, you probably think I'm crazy. Hopefully, you fellow theatre geeks are sitting at your computers nodding your heads because you know exactly how this whole shindig goes...monologue searching sucks.

Maybe I should just make this blog post into my monologue...
