The Sing Off

I just discovered this show called The Sing Off.
For those of you who watch this show, you're probably saying "Wow, good timing. The season is over next week." Thank you. I realize that.
But, that gives me a whole season to watch during break. Score.
So, there are many reasons why I love this show. First off, BEN FREAKING FOLDS is a judge. Words cannot express how much I adore Ben Folds. If you don't know him, please enlighten yourself HERE. He stuffed his shirt in the piano to make it sound muffled...and posted guitar chords on his myspace page so the people at the concert could play along. He's a musical genius. I HIGHLY suggest that you buy some of his music. Immediately.

Anyway, I digress. Back to The Sing Off. This show is like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars or any other reality competition show that you can find on TV now-a-days, but one million times better. These people actually have talent. All of these a cappella groups from all over the country come and compete against each other. This specific episode that I watched was the medleys episode...and who doesn't love a good medley!?
The first group was from a college that started with an O....I forget the college and I'm too lazy to look it up. But they did an Elton John medley. I literally squealed. Their rendition of Bennie and the Jets was the cutest thing I've ever seen. A bunch of college boys singing Elton John?! Of course I was going to melt. And I did. I literally stood up in my kitchen and gave them a standing O. My other favorite of the night was a group from LA who did a Lady Gaga medley. It was Gaga-tastic.

So there's a little rant about my new favorite show. I'm off to Paradise Bakery to eat a Chicken Salad Sandwich and a warm cookie.

Musically yours,
Jillian
